SoftwareCentral Roadmap 2023-2024
This is an overview of the planned major updates of SoftwareCentral in 2023 and 2024. The overview contains only the most important updates and we continuously develop minor functions and bug fixes, just as we continuously add functions based on our customers’ wishes and requirements.
May 2023 | 23R2 | Can now create Win32 apps in Intune. Added support for new Windows versions under requirements. Added a new Install Status window to display the installation status for each application.
Add, copy, edit and group membership administration. On-prem groups will now show as “view only”. |
August 2023 | 23R3 | Extend our current Windows Autopilot interface to import multiple devices. Add support for importing multiple devices using a CSV file. Hide the “load from MECM” option for Intune only versions of SoftwareCentral. Option to delete Windows Autopilot devices.
Develop standard Reporting module version 1 for information, status and troubleshooting with the following: Configuration Profiles, Deployment Status, Windows Update patch level, Script status, Autopilot Status and Compliance Policies. A version of SoftwareCentral that can run without a MECM server. It will still be hosted on a Windows Server running IIS. This will be a Beta version for our “first mover” Clients. |
November 2023 | 23R4 | A version of SoftwareCentral that can run without a MECM server. It will still be hosted on a Windows Server running IIS. The Intune only release will contain all the great stuff from our MECM version like the following: Application Management – Endpoint Management – Reporting module with complaince, Autopilot status and much more – SoftwareCentral Plus will still be a part of our solution, but will now support Win32 apps in Intune.
Security Roles with Intune only settings. Group members will be found in Azure AD. It will be the same Security Roles as today, but we will remake the current interface. A simple “create wizard” and a more complex edit window with tabs. MECM tabs will be hidden for Intune only version and Intune tabs will be hidden if no Intune integration is enabled. Settings must be pr. Intune tenant. Hide MECM settings from Intune only version. Support for OpenID instead of Windows Authentication. Standard Reporting module version 2 for information, status and troubleshooting with the following: Configuration Profiles, Deployment Status, Windows Update patch level, Script status, Autopilot Status and Compliance Policies. An application that can be used to import devices into Windows AutoPilot. It can be hosted on a USB-stick with a simple boot image. |
February 2024 | 24R1 | Possible to use Replace application functionality for Intune applications as you can with MECM applications.
A new interface similar to our current manage software multiple, but for Intune. It will be possible to deploy multiple applications to multiple resources (users / devices). Resources can be assigned directly to the relevant install groups or they can be assigned using filters. Use cases. 1. Assign an iOS and Android version of an app to all users on location A. 2. Assign an app to 10 devices. |
May 2024 | 24R2 | Create, edit and delete filters. Copy filters between Intune tenants. Assign filters to security roles.
Automatically add plus packages to Intune. |
August 2024 | 24R3 | Create, edit and delete scripts.
Copy scripts between tenants. Assign scripts to groups. |
November 2024 | 24R4 | View, assign Configuration Profiles.
View, assign, troubleshooting Compliance Policies. |
