Andrew Taylor joins SoftwareCentral as Chief Innovation Officer
SoftwareCentral is thrilled to announce that Andrew Taylor, a Microsoft MVP and a leading voice in the Endpoint Management community, has joined us as Chief Innovation Officer (CINO). With a career marked by forward-thinking ideas, Andrew brings unmatched expertise, a genuine passion for IT innovation, and a clear vision to help SoftwareCentral redefine the endpoint management space.
A vision for the future of Endpoint Management
Andrew’s vision for SoftwareCentral is both ambitious and practical: to transform the landscape of endpoint management and simplify the lives of IT professionals across industries. His deep understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities positions him perfectly to lead SoftwareCentral into a future defined by innovation and impact.
A perfect match for innovation
Andrew’s enthusiasm for SoftwareCentral is evident: the people and their mission. “I was blown away by how much the team genuinely loves what they do and how it’s all about helping others,” he shares. “For someone like me, who thrives on ideas, this role is the perfect fit—it’s exciting to work with a company that truly cares.” Building on this strong foundation, Andrew is eager to tackle some of the industry’s most pressing challenges, with a sharp focus on Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and the evolving role of Microsoft Intune.
Plugging the gaps in Intune and revolutionizing MSP SaaS
Andrew’s passion for Intune is well-known. “I love Intune—this isn’t a secret to anyone—but it does have some gaps,” he admits. Within SoftwareCentral, his mission is to address those gaps, particularly for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), by simplifying complex processes like multi-tenant management. High on his list of priorities is developing tools to streamline tasks such as monitoring tenant drift and deploying policies across customers. With the growing adoption of Microsoft 365 licensing, Andrew is also committed to positioning SoftwareCentral’s solutions as leaders in Intune-driven device management, ensuring they evolve alongside the needs of IT teams worldwide.
Modernizing Smart Package Studio
Andrew’s strategic focus isn’t limited to Intune. Recognizing the enduring need for custom software packaging, he is also setting his sights on Smart Package Studio. “While tools like Robopack handle most applications, there will always be some that need re-packaging to work with modern management,” he explains. His vision is to integrate Smart Package Studio seamlessly with other solutions, such as Robopack or Intune itself. “If we can remove steps for app packagers, we’ll make their lives significantly easier,” he notes.
Navigating industry shifts and empowering the community
Andrew sees SoftwareCentral as uniquely positioned to tackle some of the industry’s most significant shifts, including the move away from domain-joined devices—a transition he describes as a “large cultural change,” particularly for smaller organizations relying on MSPs. With SoftwareCentral’s deep expertise, he’s confident in the company’s ability to guide businesses of all sizes toward a cloud-native future. Beyond technology, Andrew’s vision extends to fostering collaboration within the Endpoint Management community. As a dedicated member himself, he is passionate about sharing insights and building solutions that reflect real-world needs, bringing people together to drive meaningful progress.
The people behind the vision
For Andrew, SoftwareCentral’s greatest asset is its team. “Everyone here understands the market, the blockers, and how to build products that solve real problems,” he says. This shared passion for innovation and customer success drives his confidence in SoftwareCentral’s ability to become the most innovative company in the endpoint management space.
A personal connection to innovation
While Andrew’s resume speaks volumes about his expertise in Endpoint Management and his vision for IT innovation, it’s the personal details that truly make him stand out. Beyond his role as SoftwareCentral’s new Chief Innovation Officer, Andrew brings curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for problem-solving to everything he does—whether it’s designing cutting-edge solutions or perfecting his aim with a bow and arrow.
From autoexec files to innovation excellence
Andrew didn’t start his career in IT. In fact, his first job was in a bank after studying Business Studies at university. But his love for tinkering with tech—dating back to the days of tweaking autoexec files to get his soundcard working (a confession he makes with a knowing smile)—quickly led him down the path of IT. “I realized End User Computing (EUC) was what I enjoyed the most,” Andrew explains. “I love being on the cutting edge, testing the latest and greatest things. Innovation was a natural next step—you can’t get more cutting edge than building something that doesn’t exist!”
Creativity through archery and blockbusters
When Andrew isn’t shaping the future of endpoint management, you might find him channeling his inner Robin Hood at the archery range or unwinding with a good movie. Both hobbies, he says, help him reset and think creatively. “Letting my mind relax is key. It’s often during those moments that the best ideas—or solutions to tricky problems—start to take shape.” By the way, did you know what keeps him productive? A simple Microsoft To-Do list. “I put everything in there so I can track what I need to do and when. Plus, it feels great to tick tasks off!”
A “Computer Guy” at heart
Even outside work, Andrew’s passion for tech follows him. His kids say simply, “He works with computers“—and yes, there’s a server humming away at home to prove it! But if Andrew hadn’t found his way to IT? He imagines life as a racing driver or cinema projectionist. Either way, he admits, “I probably would have still ended up surrounded by computers.”
