SoftwareCentral Q4 Update Brings User-Inspired Innovations
At SoftwareCentral, we don’t just build software – we build partnerships. We believe that great software is built in close collaboration with its users. Our Q4 release is a testament to this philosophy, packed with features you’ve asked for. Let’s dive into what’s new and how it’ll make your life easier.
New Apple device support for stronger security
Managing Apple devices in a large enterprise can be tricky, and we get that. That’s why, starting in Q4, SoftwareCentral is stepping up its support for Apple devices enrolled in Apple Business Manager. We’re introducing Lost Mode for iOS devices—giving you the ability to remotely lock, track, and display a message on lost devices.
Whether it’s a misplaced phone or a more serious security concern, Lost Mode will give your IT team the power to protect sensitive data and keep things running smoothly. With remote lock capabilities and real-time tracking, you can ensure data stays safe, even when devices don’t.
To ensure the interface remains clean and user-friendly, this feature will be hidden if a device is not enrolled in Apple Business Manager, preventing unnecessary complexity for users who don’t need it.
Upgraded reporting capabilities through Power BI
Data is only useful if you can easily understand it. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new Power BI integration in our Q4 release, designed to help you get more out of the data you already have.
With the new Power BI Template App, you’ll be able to connect your Intune environment to Power BI and access rich, customizable reports that show you the information that matters most. Whether it’s software deployments, compliance, or device inventories, these reports are ready to go right out of the box. We’ve taken care of the heavy lifting, but the real power is in your hands—you can edit our pre-built reports or create your own, giving you the flexibility to tailor insights to your specific needs.
And the best part? These reports are fully embedded within SoftwareCentral, so you can access all your data insights in one place, or if you prefer, work directly within Power BI. It’s all about giving you the control and visibility you need to keep your IT operations running efficiently.
Coming soon: Power BI for Configuration Manager
But we’re not stopping there. We understand that many of our users rely on Configuration Manager for their daily operations, and we’re happy to confirm that a similar Power BI integration is in development for ConfigMgr as well. Our team is actively working on this feature, and we’re excited to extend these advanced reporting capabilities across all major platforms our clients use. Stay tuned—this feature is just around the corner!

These new features are more than just updates—they’re solutions to the challenges you’ve told us about. As always, we’re committed to helping you work smarter, not harder. Our Q4 release is just the beginning of what we’ve got planned to make IT management easier, more secure, and more efficient for your business.
